About The Event

Chinese New Year is the most festive time with families gathering to celebrate the incoming Year of the Rabbit with meals and gift giving. The American Club Foundation is partnering with Society for Community Organization ("SoCo") and Giving Bread to distribute food bags to the families living in sub-divided flats in Sham Shui Po and the elderly in Tuen Mun, which is one of the Hong Kong districts with the highest rate of elderly living on the poverty line. Their need is more desperate now, given the past events in 2022 limiting work opportunities and financial hardship for the beneficiaries.

The American Club community will be donating a week before this event a variety of food and other items, including rice and noodles. Please help us bring some warmth to the underprivileged and wish them a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous Chinese New Year! Join us at the Country Club as we work together to pack Chinese New Year bag for donations.

Please see the details below:

Date: Jan 14, 2022

Time:

1. 10-11 am (Volunteer will move the donated items from Country Club carpark to North Lawn and do quality check); OR

2. 11am-12 noon (Volunteer will pack CNY bag at North Lawn)

We will run a collection drive at Country Club carpark from Jan 7 to Jan 14. If you would like to donate food and other items for the families and elderly, please see the details here.

This activity will be conducted in a socially distanced manner and is suitable for families. Masks will be required for the entire duration of the event.

Please contact Shirley at programs@acfhk.org if you have any questions.
