BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the Foundation. It oversees legal and fiduciary compliance, ensures responsible and prudent financial stewardship and advocates for the ACF and its work in the community.

Our Directors are passionate about charity and volunteer their time to help make the American Club Foundation a success.

LAURA WARREN

Chair/Nominations Committee

Laura has been involved in philanthropy for the last several years, working with various underprivileged populations in Hong Kong, including refugees and children. She helped to re-establish the Hong Kong chapter of the global crowdfunding platform 10x10 and continues to be active with them today. Laura became involved with the ACF after serving on its Programs Committee and currently helps run the 'Your Voice Speaker Series.' She has also served on various committees for The American Club, including Membership and Development.
When Laura is not dedicating her time by giving back to her community, you can find her trail running in the mountains of Tai Tam or spending time with her beloved son and husband.

R.J. ASHER

Vice-Chair/Remuneration Committee

R.J. Asher, a Miami University graduate with a BA in Political Science, began his career at Macy's. From 1990 to 1999, he excelled in various roles, including Store Management and Merchandise Planning. Transitioning to Human Resources, he established the Buying Line Recruitment Program, showcasing his leadership skills. Joining Avon Products, R.J. held positions in North American and Global Human Resources, ultimately serving as Head of Human Resources for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong. In 2010, he founded Tai Tai Pie Pies, supporting NGOs and children's causes. Although he sold the business in 2023, R.J. remains devoted to helping the underprivileged communities and supporting the ACF's mission.

SHIRLEY HO

Finance Committee

Shirley is an Operations Governance and Management professional and has extensive
experience in large and strategic projects. In her career span of 25+ years, she has
worked for MNCs including McKinsey, PwC, Prudential, and also SMEs, with focuses on
Hong Kong and Asia. Her specializations are Insurance, IT Management and Management
Consulting.

Shirley actively volunteers at the ACF and is passionate about sharing her skills and
becoming stronger together. Her family has joined the American Club for 20 years and she
now serves on the Club’s Fitness and Programming Committee. Shirley enjoys going to
the gym as well as traveling with her husband and their two teenage children.

MIRA CHRISTANTO

Marketing & Communications Committee

Mira is a venture investor specializing in cryptocurrency and alternative investments. Previously, she held the position of Senior Portfolio Manager at a top-tier asset management firm, where she was responsible for overseeing public equity investments throughout the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, she gained experience at a large hedge fund, focusing on investments in both private and public markets across various sectors.

Earlier in her career, Mira worked in investment banking, concentrating on leveraged finance and restructuring. She also established a meditation studio aimed at fostering mindfulness in the heart of Central Hong Kong.

Mira earned her BA in Economics and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences from Northwestern University. She has also been a member of the American Club (AC) for over twelve years and serves on the AC Finance Committee. In her free time, you'll find her swinging a tennis racket or golf club and enjoying precious time with her three children.

TATIANA SIDNEVA

Governance Committee

Tatiana Sidneva joins the ACF with a wealth of experience in international private wealth management, financial services, and tax structuring for ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Her expertise includes succession planning, trusts, and intricate corporate matters.

She launched her career at prestigious international law firms, such as Cleary Gottlieb, White & Case, and Mishcon de Reya in London. She has also served as General Counsel and Head of Compliance for a prominent asset management firm based in Hong Kong. Tatiana has participated on multiple boards offering strategic oversight, guidance on governance best practices.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Tatiana is admitted to practice in England & Wales and New York in the US. She is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She has two children and enjoys cultural activities, traveling, and cherishing quality time with her family. She is excited to contribute her efforts to further the success of the ACF.

GWEN LOCKINGTON

Gwen brings 25 years of experience leading organizational transformation initiatives in Senior Executive HR roles across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America for multinational corporations such as WarnerMedia and the National Basketball Association (NBA). She is now running her own HR and Advisory practice.

A passionate advocate for strategic leadership, Gwen actively contributes her expertise to boards and committees. She serves in various capacities for the American Club in Hong Kong as member of the American Club Foundation Board.

As a graduate of the Financial Time Board of Directors certification, Gwen finds board service deeply fulfilling, both in expanding her leadership perspective and in fostering meaningful connections across industries.

Committed to professional and thought leadership, Gwen also engages in advisory roles for small businesses and NGO’s focusing on governance, talent strategy, and cross-cultural leadership and actively looks for speaking engagements around these topics.

Gwen holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Gwen is also an IECL certified coach, a SHRM Global Human Resources Professional and a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner.

Outside of work, Gwen is a mother to 7-year-old twins, Sophie and Max, and their poodle, Barkley.

FIONA FOXON

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Fiona Foxon is the Executive Director of the American Club Foundation Hong Kong, bringing 20 years of experience building and scaling mission-driven organisations across Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific. Her career includes senior leadership roles at Mattel, Tink Labs, and Quintessentially. Fiona previously co-founded and led the international expansion of digital wellbeing nonprofit Screen Sanity, and brings an entrepreneurial, community-focused mindset to the Foundation.

Fiona is actively involved in Hong Kong’s youth sports and arts community, serves on the Boards and Committees of the HK Rugby 10s, LookUp Hong Kong, the HKIS Booster Club, and AGASA, and is a passionate advocate for education and empowering young people.

ASEL RAUL

PROGRAMS & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Asel joins the ACF from a Hong Kong NGO, where she worked in fundraising and communications to support programs serving a disadvantaged community. Her background also includes the finance sector, providing her with experience in corporate finance, project management, and strategic communications.

Professionally, Asel is interested in social impact and sustainability. She is excited to bring her experience to the ACF and contribute to its mission.

INGRID CHAN

WEBSITE & GRAPHIC

Ingrid is a student at German Swiss International School. She began interning with ACF in June 2021 because she admires the way the foundation takes advantage of the club’s resources to support the underprivileged in Hong Kong. During her internship, Ingrid not only gains valuable work experience, but she is also provided with a platform to give back to the underserved in the community she grew up in.

Ingrid works on website and graphics, while also helping out to prepare for and during charity events hosted by ACF.

EVA KIM

MARKETING & EVENTS

Eva is a rising sophomore in Hong Kong International School. She is a committed swimmer and loves to create videos in her spare time. She looks forward to her experience working with the ACF.

MADISON MARGOLIN

Maddi is a student at HKIS. Her creative talents shone brightly as she collaborated with a team of five designers to develop captivating poster concepts for the Annual Charity Gala.
Maddi's positive attitude and willingness to assist have been truly invaluable. Currently a sophomore at HKIS, she finds joy in spending her weekends with friends, immersing herself in music, and occasionally exploring the world of baking. Leveraging her artistic knowledge, Maddi skillfully creates compelling graphic designs and eagerly anticipates further honing her creative skills during her time with ACF.

Camille Sanchez

EVENTS

Camille is currently a freshman at HKIS.
Cheerful, confident and always willing to lend a hand, Camille has been an consistent supporter of the ACF, helping out at their charity events since 2021.

She particularly enjoys working with the team and helping the various organisations and companies that partner with ACF during the annual Christmas Holiday Market, Tennis socials and Charity Gala.
In her spare time, Camille loves all things creative and musical and enjoys baking, exploring HK and hanging out with her sister and friends.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Marketing and Communication Committee guides ACF's brand positioning, audience strategy, and storytelling. Acts as a high-level advisory body ensuring all communications reflect ACF's mission and inspire greater engagement.

GRANTSPLUS COMMITTEE

The GrantsPLUS Committee works with the ACF team to identify, review, and fund charities aligned with our three pillars. These dedicated Committee members activate the "PLUS" in GrantsPLUS, going beyond grant-making to connect charity partners with volunteers, expertise, and community networks.

SPONSORSHIP & FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee leads corporate sponsorship and partnership strategy, identifying and cultivating relationships with organisations whose values align with ACF's mission to create lasting impact across Hong Kong.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Together with the ACF CEO and team, the Finance Committee develops the ACF’s long-range financial plan and yearly operational budgets. It also monitors the implementation of the budget and reports periodically to the Board on the ACF’s financial status. Furthermore, it provides oversight over the Foundation’s financial reporting and works closely with our auditors, KPMG, in the financial audit process. We are grateful to KPMG for their pro bono services.

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE

The Programs Committee shapes and delivers ACF's annual program of volunteering events, community initiatives, fundraising events, the Young Changemaker Awards, and the Your Voice speaker series.

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

The Governance Committee serves as the ACF’s primary resource on governance issues. It reviews the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the ACF to ensure that the Board, staff and the ACF comply with them at all times. The Governance Committee also has oversight over the Foundation’s compliance and risk management matters and evaluates and manages conflicts of interest that may arise at all levels of the ACF.
