Chinese New Year is the most festive time with families gathering to celebrate the incoming Year of the Rabbit with meals and gift giving. The American Club Foundation partnered with Society for Community Organization ("SoCO") and Giving Bread to distribute food bags to the families living in sub-divided flats in Sham Shui Po and the elderly in Tuen Mun, which is one of the Hong Kong districts with the highest rate of elderly living on the poverty line. Their need is more desperate now, given the past events in 2022 limiting work opportunities and financial hardship.
The American Club community donated, packed and delivered a variety of food and necessities to bring some warmth to the underprivileged. Wishing them a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous Chinese New Year!
